New Delhi (India): The Government of India has officially unveiled the logo and key flagship initiatives for the upcoming India-AI Impact Summit 2026, set to take place on 19-20 February 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. Union Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw announced the launch of a series of transformative initiatives designed to accelerate India’s position as a global hub for responsible and inclusive artificial intelligence.
Flagship Initiatives Unveiled
The summit will feature pioneering programs such as the UDAAN Global AI Pitch Fest, YuvaAI Innovation Challenge, AI by HER, Global Innovation Challenge, Research Symposium, and the AI Expo. These initiatives highlight India’s focus on inclusivity, youth participation, and global collaboration in AI innovation.
Launch of Eight Indigenous Foundation Model Projects
India also announced the development of eight indigenous AI foundational models covering key sectors like multilingual learning, healthcare, scientific research, industrial innovation, agriculture, and governance. Projects led by institutions such as IIT Bombay, Fractal Analytics, Tech Mahindra, and others will ensure AI models tailored to India’s linguistic, cultural, and domain-specific needs.
Vision of People, Planet, and Progress
The official logo embodies the Ashoka Chakra surrounded by neural network flares, symbolizing ethical governance and AI’s transformative impact. The Summit will be anchored on the principles of People, Planet, and Progress, further translated into seven thematic ‘Chakras’—including Human Capital, Safe & Trusted AI, Science, and AI for Social Good.
Strengthening AI Ecosystem
As part of the IndiaAI Mission, 30 new Data and AI Labs have been launched, with a target of 570 labs nationwide. IndiaAI Fellowships will support 13,500 scholars across undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels. These initiatives aim to democratize access to AI resources and nurture the next generation of innovators.
Global South Leadership
Being hosted by India as the first-ever Global South nation, the India-AI Impact Summit 2026 is expected to attract global leaders, policymakers, researchers, and industry pioneers. It will reinforce India’s role as a global convener shaping the future of AI for inclusive growth and sustainable development
